new katy perry track

So I recently heard the fourth released track off Katy Perry’s upcoming cd entitled “circled the drain.” I’ve been surprised with the three previous tracks (minus California girls, still trying to get my head around that load) but, this new track is a little too much “bitch slap your ex” kinda tune. I’m all for the break up songs but this song just sounds like Perry opened up her diary and basically read a passage. It’s kinda catchy but there is no substance whatsoever (you’d think with a title like “circle the drain” there would something more). It’s hard not to deny that this new track isn’t about Perry’s ex Travie Mccoy, ever since his solo cd Lazarus popped its head through with a single entitled “Need You” that is set to be the next cd to hit the radio for Mccoy; poking jabs at his ex girlfriend for leaving him and with months getting engaged to actor Russell Brands (her taste in men is also questionable). In “Circle the Drain” it seems to show that Perry’s exit one final time with Mccoy was do o drug/alcohol/whatever use and that was the reason for the split. If this song was done with a little more anonymity and A LOT MORE substance lyrically, than maybe I could say that this would be another hit for Perry but there are soo many problems with this song including the fact that no one really cares that she dated Travie Mccoy that its hard to say she’ll get another hit (but it will be a tune that will spread more rumours about the ex’s split). Final opinion, pass on downloading/itunes shopping, for this song and just stick to keeping “Teenage dream” on repeat and if you do care for the Perry/Mccoy split I’d listen to “Need you” by Mccoy it ACTUALLY sounds like a song.
